On May 5, WE EMEA and Macquarie hosted a panel discussion on the topic of “Robo Advisors: Threat of Opportunity?” in Macquarie offices in London.
We had a full house, with more than 70 people attending, testament of the relevance of the topic and the high profile of the speakers.
Manuela Sperandeo co-head of Events and Education opened the panel with a warm welcome followed by Bachir Binebine, who heads ETF business for Macquarie. The panel was moderated by Peter Bentley, Head of Digital at Macquarie and included speakers from Robo Advisors such as Money Farm and Nutmeg as well as traditional wealth managers such as Coutts.
The panellists brought different perspectives on the topic and there was a very engaged debate on the future of Robo Advisors, the challenges faced by more traditional players and what is the strategy many of the large firms are adopting to face such challenges.
We had extremely positive feedback throughout the evening from attendees, who thoroughly enjoyed the educative discussion, great premises and superb networking opportunity.
