WE PHILADELPHIA | VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY WITH JUNIOR ACHIEVMENT

Join Women in ETFs Philadelphia as a volunteer to engage with middle school and high school students for JA Finance Park which will be a capstone learning experience after 12 hours of lessons in the classroom. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to provide mentorship and share professional experiences to help students understand the importance of financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship.

Junior Achievement's mission to empower young people to own their economic success aligns well with Women in ETFs' (WE) mission, particularly in the areas of financial literacy and mentorship. WE is dedicated to advancing the careers of women in the ETF industry through education, networking, and mentorship.  Both organizations emphasize the importance of financial education and the transformative power of mentorship, striving to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate and succeed in the financial world. By volunteering with JA, members of WE can directly contribute to fostering the next generation of financially literate and economically empowered individuals.

JA Finance Park

By adopting “real life” personas, middle and high school students in JA Finance Park learn to construct and adhere to a personal budget that includes typical expenses such as housing and food, saving, transportation, childcare, entertainment, healthcare, insurance, utilities, clothing and education.

Before you begin the JA Finance Park program, JA staff will provide training so you are comfortable with the simulation experience which involves working with a small group of students. You will become familiar with the daily schedule, the work expected of the students along with your roles and responsibilities.
