On 8 March 2018, Women in ETFs celebrated International Women’s Day at Euronext Amsterdam by ringing the bell for Gender Equality.
Cyrille Verbeeten, City Liaison for WE in the Netherlands, opened trading at Euronext Amsterdam, followed by an opening speech. Diana van Maasdijk, CEO of Equileap, subsequently shared some inspirational thoughts on the business case for diversity. We ended the morning with a networking breakfast.
The Euronext Amsterdam bell ringing is part of a global collaboration of 65 stock exchanges around the world to “Ring the Bell for Gender Equality”. The events are a partnership between Women in ETFs, UN Global Compact, UN Women, the Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) Initiative, the IFC, and the World Federation of Stock Exchanges, to raise awareness about the business case for women’s economic empowerment and the opportunities for the private sector to advance gender equality and sustainable development.
