|WE SPEAKER'S BUREAU
With the aim of increasing women's visibility in ETF industry conferences and financial media, WE launched the WE Speakers Bureau. The Speaker's Bureau is designed to help event organizers and media outlets reflect the diverse talent and expertise today's ETF industry. The Speakers Bureau's goal is to increase women's representation among presenters at industry conferences to 25% within the next 12 months. And with over 30 professionals already participating in the Bureau, we are well on our way to achieving that goal!
Major conference organizers including InsideETFs, Morningstar and IMN, have endorsed and partnered with WE on this initiative to provide access to well-qualified women speakers and shrink the gender gap at industry events and in the financial media The Speaker's Bureau is currently working with a media publicist to make our experts available for media interviews.
Please contact WE Speaker's Bureau Heads, Elisabeth Kashner at Factset and Linda Zhang at Purview Investments, if your organization is in need of a great speaker. We can work with you to identify talented women for your event or media opportunity.

|Ring the Bell for Global Equality
For the fifth consecutive year, WE along with five partner organizations celebrated International Women’s Day, participating in ‘Ring the Bell for Gender Equality’, a global collaboration across 85 stock exchanges around the world.
This year’s events reflected the global commitment and partnership between, Women in ETFs, UN Global Compact, UN Women, Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) Initiative, IFC, and the World Federation of Exchanges to raise awareness about the business case for women’s economic empowerment and the opportunities for the private sector to advance gender equality and sustainable development.
|WE Webcast: Beyond Measure: The Big Impact of Small Changes
WE started off this year’s webcast series with popular TED speaker, Dr. Margaret Heffernan, whose interesting anecdotes and insights into human behavior have transformed organizations.
The interactive session, moderated by Louis Gregson, challenges us for a new kind of thinking, arguing that people and organizations can have a big impact by making deceptively small changes such as using every mind on the team, rethinking mistakes and encouraging time off from work.
|Women on Boards
In May, WE San Francisco hosted a Women on Boards panel in light of the new California regulation mandating that all publicly traded companies headquartered in the state have at least one female director by year end, and a minimum of three by 2021 for companies with six or more total directors.
Five inspiring panelists: Anne Chapman, KT Rabin, Jessica Denecour, Coco Brown, and Kathy Swickert, lead a lively and authentic discussion on the context and importance of the CA legislation, as well as the challenges and opportunities of being a woman on a public board. Following the panel, attendees had the opportunity to connect with the panelists and other industry professionals during the networking session. Thanks to the SF chapter leadership team, and the CFA Society and MSCI for their sponsorship!
