    OCTOBER 26, 2016

WE Talks webcast was launched in April 2016. WE Talks is a series of short video productions by WE members for other WE members. As one key initiative under the WE Global Mentorship and Leadership Committee, the WE Talks program is intended to provide a forum for members to enlighten and inspire each other by sharing their professional growth experiences and challenges on a specific subject.

In this WE Talks series, we have invited subject experts along with WE members to share their perspectives on the topic of gender confidence gap. Many scholars have found that the gender confidence gap has existed across industries and across cultures. For professional women, it often has profound impact on their career and financial advancements. For example, there is a notion that “men are promoted for their potentials, while women are promoted for their achievements”. Does this have anything to do with the idea that women are less confident to put themselves out there for the so called “stretch projects”? Our guest speakers will cover several areas, including:

  • What defines the ‘gender confidence gap’?
  • To what degree the gender confidence gap is real in daily life?
  • How much do culture and customs play a role in the gender confidence gap?
  • How do you think women can overcome the gender confidence gap in the workplace?
  • What can your male boss, male colleagues and firms do to help women overcome this issue?

Please join our guest speakers for this fascinating discussion. There will be live panel discussion and Q&A from the audience after viewing the WE Talks videos during this webcast.
