Effective Jan. 1, 2025, the following individuals will join the WE, Inc. Board:

WE’s Board of Directors is comprised of senior individuals from the ETF ecosystem who are passionate about WE’s mission and who have been key contributors to the organization. The Board’s responsibility is to provide strategic guidance and oversight for the ongoing operations of WE as well as to raise awareness of WE’s mission.

Also, effective Jan. 1, 2025, four current Board directors will transition to the Women in ETFs Emeritus Board: Sharon French, Senior Partner, TIFIN, Michelle Mikos, Managing Director, ETF Investment Due Diligence, Invesco, Allison Fumai, Partner at Dechert LLP, and Linda Zhang, CEO and Founder of Purview Investments.

Women in ETFs Rings the Bell For Gender Equality at Exchanges Worldwide

Women in ETFs celebrates a milestone anniversary and reaches new highs

New York - February 26, 2020 - Women in ETFs, an organization focused on connecting, inspiring and supporting women in the growing ETF industry with over 16 chapters across 4 continents, celebrated during 2019 its 5^th anniversary with 5 major regional events and many local events around the world. The organization has grown from 5 founders in 2014 to over 5600 members today with many industry companies becoming sponsors.

“The organization has been so successful, and we wanted to bring the celebration to our members in a way that represents who we are as an organization by connecting and inspiring all those involved,” said Sharon French, President and CEO, AIG and Co-President of Women in ETFs. “As an organization, we are proud to provide opportunities for peer engagement, educational events, and thought provoking content for our members across every stage of their career.”

Last month, at the Annual Women in ETFs breakfast held at the “Inside ETFs” conference in Hollywood, Florida, Women in ETFs celebrated its 6^th year and announced the results of a year-long campaign to increase female speakers at the legendary conference. “We are proud to announce that after a conscious effort to reach out to our sponsors and the Inside ETFs conference organizer, we have reached a point where 28% of the speakers at the conference are female,” said Christine Berg, Managing Director at MSCI and Co-President of Women in ETFs. Berg continues, “We are proud of this increase as it is a wonderful symbol of the progress that can be made when people are conscious of making a change.”  Only 7% of speakers at the Inside ETFs Conference were women when Women in ETFs began tracking this number 5 years ago.

Also at the breakfast, Women in ETFs recognized Board Member Diana Tidd, Head of Index and Chief Responsibility Officer at MSCI by presenting her with the “Women in ETFs 2019 Service Award” representing the Advancement of Women in the ETF Industry for her outstanding leadership and contributions since the inception of the organization.

Women in ETFs is excited to grow its Speaker’s Bureau, the committee responsible for the growth in diversity at conferences and in the media.  The Speaker’s Bureau also assists media outlets, conference organizers and others find accomplished and engaging female voices.  Women in ETFs is also offering new ways for members to connect, learn valuable insights and engage in exceptional role modelling and mentoring opportunities.

On March 8, 2020, Women in ETFs is thrilled to partner with the IFC, Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) Initiative,UN Global Compact, UN Women, and theWorld Federation of Exchanges for the ‘Ring the Bell for Gender Equality’ Ceremony for International Women’s Day. In 2019, the partners rang bells at 85 stock exchanges across the globe during the weeks surrounding International Women’s Day.  This year the theme is "I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women's Rights".  Generation Equality is a global campaign on the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action “Each for Equal - An equal world is an enabled world”.
